Accessibility statement

We aim to make this site and the Aesta product usable by everyone. Here is what we have done and how to report a problem.

Pre-launch draft

This is a pre-launch draft and will be reviewed before Aesta goes live. A formal accessibility audit will be completed before the product launches. We welcome feedback on anything you find difficult to use.

We believe good software should be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of disability or the assistive technology they rely on. We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Our commitment

We want this site to be accessible to people who:

  • Navigate by keyboard rather than a mouse.
  • Use a screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver.
  • Use browser zoom or operating system magnification.
  • Prefer reduced motion to avoid vestibular discomfort.
  • Have low vision and rely on high-contrast display modes.

What we have done

The following practices are built into this site and, as it develops, into the Aesta product:

  • Semantic HTML. We use correct heading levels, landmark regions, lists, and button elements so that screen readers can convey structure accurately.
  • Visible keyboard focus. Interactive elements show a clear focus indicator when navigated by keyboard. We do not suppress the default focus outline without providing an equally visible alternative.
  • Colour contrast. Text and interactive controls are designed to meet or exceed the WCAG AA contrast ratios of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Reduced-motion support. Animations and transitions are suppressed for users who have set their operating system to prefer reduced motion, via the CSS prefers-reduced-motion media query.
  • Alternative text. Images that carry meaning have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Descriptive link text. Links describe their destination or purpose rather than using generic phrases such as "click here".
  • Form labels. All form fields have a programmatically associated label visible to assistive technology.

Known limitations

As the site is in active development, some pages may not yet meet every WCAG 2.2 AA criterion. A formal audit will be carried out before the product launches and any gaps identified will be addressed. We will update this statement to reflect the results of that audit.

How to report an issue

If you encounter any part of this site or the Aesta product that you find difficult to use, we want to hear about it. Please get in touch via the early-access form and describe as clearly as you can:

  • The page or feature you were trying to use.
  • The assistive technology and browser you were using.
  • What you expected to happen and what happened instead.

We aim to acknowledge all accessibility reports within five working days and to provide a fix or workaround within a reasonable timeframe.

Enforcement procedure

If you are unsatisfied with our response to an accessibility concern, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) in the UK at equalityadvisoryservice.com.

Technical specification

This site relies on the following technologies for its accessibility:

  • HTML5
  • CSS (including custom properties and media queries)
  • A small amount of JavaScript for progressive enhancement only (navigation scroll behaviour). The site is fully functional with JavaScript disabled.

Last reviewed: July 2026 (draft). Formal audit pending before product launch.
